1 January 2017: New article published in the International Journal of Nursing Studies
An article by Joni Gilissen, in collaboration with PACE-project researchers Lara Pivodic, Tinne Smets and Lieve Van den Block has been published in the January 2017 edition of the International Journal of Nursing Studies.
The article, “Preconditions for successful advance care planning in nursing homes: A systematic review” provides an important contribution to the evidence base regarding preconditions for optimal implementation of advance care planning in nursing homes.
The findings support efforts to improve advance care planning by giving particular attention to health-care professionals and the facility, and highlight that a whole-system approach must be followed.
By specifying these preconditions, these researchers expect to be able to make well-founded choices from different components for the advance care planning intervention that are to be developed in the subsequent steps of their future projects concerning ACP in nursing homes.
